Hi, I'm Mat

I design and craft beautifully useful things for your home and desk, starting with calendars and planners. They're made to help you stay present in an increasingly distracted world, and built so the parts worth keeping outlive the year they were printed for. Designed and made in the UK.

My products

Every product is an original, designed and crafted in my London studio. I consider every detail to ensure legibility and usability while creating pieces that make a visual statement in your space. With experience spanning information design, digital product design, and print, I hope your experience will be calm, clear, and pleasant.

Right now, I offer elegant and practical calendars for your home and office. You can find them through various channels: my online Shop, Holly & Co, Etsy, and selected retailers worldwide. For wholesale orders, please get in touch or follow my Faire Direct link.

Behind the fold

There's more to a well-made object than what you see. Behind every piece lie many small choices – most of which you'd never notice unless I pointed them out.

For example, I try to avoid plastic and glue in both my products and my packaging. By using structural folding instead of permanent attachment, it's easy for you to reuse and recycle individual components, including binding.

The same thinking runs through everything: using water-based inks since my early days as a designer, paper and wood chosen to age well rather than just photograph well, and products designed to pack small so they travel light.

My background

Working as a product, information, and communication designer, I have spent the past 20+ years supporting global companies such as Spotify, Trainline, Perk and Applied, as well as startups, cultural institutions and charitable organisations in the UK and Slovenia (more on LinkedIn).

With a combination of strategic thinking and thoughtful crafting, I've created digital and physical products you've already used.

Renovating a family home and experiencing the effect a well-considered living space can have on well-being rekindled my passion for hands-on, creative problem-solving and crafting.

I started Mat Cuk Design in 2025 to further focus on creating delightful and useful products. Follow my journey on Instagram to see my latest sustainability innovations and behind-the-scenes glimpses of new designs.

Sustainable thinking

My studio runs entirely on renewable energy. My products are compact, use materials efficiently, and pack down for easier shipment. I work exclusively with UK-based suppliers who match my environmental standards, using recycled and sustainably sourced paper and wood.

I try to reduce, reuse, repair, and recycle, and find creative solutions for any waste I generate if a zero-waste solution isn't feasible.

I make my products to reduce stock, therefore minimising the chance of ending up as waste. Depending on the product, they're either made in small batches or made to order.

Honest pricing

As consumers, we've grown accustomed to inflated prices just to offer "free shipping" or sudden price drops during events like Black Friday sales. I have carefully set prices so they make sense year-round.

When checking out, you'll clearly see how much it costs to deliver your chosen product to your door, to give you confidence that you're not paying more than you need to.

Timepiece → Mat Cuk

In 2025 I launched this online shop as Timepiece, to emphasise the time-keeping nature of my calendars and planners. However, with my focus shifting to crafted and even handmade goods beyond stationery, I wanted the brand name to reflect this – now all of my products carry my signature.
